A Brief History of UNT's Course Redesign Projects
The UNT course redesign journey began officially in 2004 with the Blended Learning Project. The result of this project, and the subsequent Blended Learning II Project in 2005, were nine courses that combined online and face-to-face learning experiences with the goal of enhancing student learning outcomes within the existing fiscal constraints.
The success of the Blended Learning Projects, the Community of Practice that emerged, and the continuing evidence of the need to develop assessment-driven alternatives to current practice resulted in the decision to continue this effort through the submission of a Quality Enhancement Plan. UNT’s Quality Enhancement Plan’s success attracted grant support at the State and Federal level and the Next Generation Course Redesign™ Project emerged during the second year of the QEP. Funding from a Title III grant has enabled us to increase the number of courses redesigned each year and to provide funding for the N-Gen Course Redesign Project through 2013.

These efforts will enhance the University's overall instructional quality, improve student learning, and strengthen the efficiency of the learning and teaching process.QEP Primary Goal
The primary goal of the UNT QEP is to improve student learning outcomes including course-specific and general course outcomes and, especially, to increase the amount of higher level learning.
